The Fourth Industrial Revolution, known as Industry 4.0, is characterised by rapid advancements in technology, robotics, and artificial intelligence. These changes will significantly impact the job market in approximately 10 years, with professions in engineering, computer science, and robotics being in high demand. The Department’s main goal is to educate and train future computer science and robotics specialists, as well as experts in business informatics, data analysis, automation, and business management. The Department aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in these evolving fields and contribute to the digital economy.

By focusing on these critical disciplines, faculty members are committed to empowering students to make meaningful contributions to the digital economy and the continuous technological advancements that shape our world.

Research Interests and Projects:

The Department and the Institute of Digital Education are actively engaged in research on the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in education. Key areas of focus include the development of recommendation systems, educational robotics, and data analysis in education.

One notable project involves the development of a recommendation system based on the "Moscow Electronic School" object repository using machine learning methods. Students of the institute are also actively involved in practical activities, including the creation of digital assistants based on artificial intelligence technologies.

The Institute conducts scientific seminars and webinars on the theory and methodology of teaching data analysis and machine learning, as well as the risks and opportunities of using artificial intelligence in education.
